The Savage 110 Ultralite is chambered in the popular .270 caliber, and is a direct result of their collaboration. The carbon-fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel created by Proof Research includes 5GR cut rifling and is rounded off with a 5/8×24-threaded muzzle with a cap to protect the muzzle and the crown.

Proof Research’s carbon-fiber barrels are highly prized by shooting enthusiasts because they deliver outstanding accuracy with minimal weight. Moreover, these carbon-fiber barrels are designed to dissipate heat very quickly and efficiently.

The Ultralite remains true to its name and weighs less than 6 pounds. This means the user can carry it in the field for extended periods without feeling any fatigue. This rifle has been designed to work at very high elevations and very low temperatures. The performance of its factory blueprinted Savage action is matchless, and the rifle functions flawlessly, irrespective of the elements. This is a purpose-built weapon that has been created for success in all kinds of mountain hunts. The steel receiver features an attractive yet extremely tough Melonite finish.

The stock features Savage’s AccuFit™ technology to create the perfect cheek-to-stock fit. It has an adjustable pull length and comb height to ensure optimum versatility for all kinds of shooting styles. The rifle has also been suitably well equipped with an adjustable AccuTrigger™ that can be adjusted from 1.5 to 4 lbs. This trigger eliminates mushiness and overtravel-related problems and delivers a crisp break and a clean release to close out a successful hunt.

The 4-shot magazine capacity allows the user to take rapid follow-up shots in case the first one misses the target. The push-feed design ensures easy feeding and features a floating bolt head. This system enables both lugs to retain full contact with their respective lug abutments for a rock solid lock up, shot after shot.
